Norbert Herr
Norbert Herr (born May 28, 1944 in Fulda ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Hessian state parliament .
education and profession
After graduating from the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium in Fulda in 1963, he studied history, politics and geography in Frankfurt am Main . Mr. finished his studies in 1969 with the first state examination , in 1970 with an additional examination in geography and in 1974 with the second state examination (from 1973 to 1974 legal clerkship). In 1975 the doctorate to Dr. phil.
Since 1977, Mr. was active as a student councilor. From 1983 to 1984 he held a part-time teaching position at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences .
From 1989 to 1990 he was deputy head of the ministerial office in the Hessian Ministry of Culture .
Norbert Herr is Roman Catholic, married and has four children.
politics
In 1971, Mr. joined the Junge Union and the CDU. In the JU he was district chairman of the JU East Hesse and a member of the state board. In the CDU he is a member of the district executive committee of the CDU Fulda.
He has been a member of the Fulda district assembly since 1977 and was deputy parliamentary group chairman until he was elected parliamentary group chairman in 2001. He is chairman of the school and culture working group of the district council and a member of the regional assembly for North Hesse.
In 1993 and 1994 Mr. was a member of the German Bundestag .
In 1994 Mr. was a member of the Federal Assembly .
Since April 5, 1995, Mr. was a member of the Hessian state parliament and was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from April 5, 1999 to April 4, 2008. He was deputy chairman of the committee for science and art since April 5, 2003, member of the cultural policy committee, subcommittee for expellees, repatriates, refugees and reparations, board of trustees of the Hessian state center for political education, board of trustees of the foundation “Podium of young musicians” and the state personnel commission .
As a directly elected member, he represented constituency 15 - Fulda II in the state parliament. Mr. did not run in the state elections in 2013. His successor in the constituency is Markus Meysner .
In 2016 he received the Georg Stieler Medal .

Norbert Herr has been a member of the administrative board of Sparkasse Fulda since May 2006 as well as a member and former district chairman of the Hessian Philological Association (DBB). Mr. is a member of the Catholic CV connections KDStV Greiffenstein Frankfurt / Main, KDStV Adolphiana Fulda and KDStV Arminia Heidelberg . His hobby is brass music. He volunteers as president of the Working Group of Hessian Music Associations (AHM) and as chairman of the Fulda District and Town Music Association.
