The Pesa Swing is a five-piece, niederfluriger 100% tram - Gelenktriebwagen the manufacturer PESA from Bydgoszcz , Poland . It was developed as a further development of the Type 120N already used in Warsaw . The first Swings were delivered to the Warsaw tram and were given the designation 120Na , since then other Swings in different versions have been delivered to tram operators in Poland and other Eastern European countries.
Compared to the predecessor type 120N, the 120Na received a differently designed, somewhat brawny front section. The significantly lower proportion of seats is noticeable (40 + 4 emergency seats instead of 63 on the 120N).
history
The 120Na will be produced on the basis of a contract dated May 29, 2009, which provides for the delivery of a total of 186 units in the period 2010-2013. 100 units should be in operation by the end of 2012. In May 2010 the first copy was delivered to Warsaw, subjected to detailed tests and used for the first time in passenger service on June 1st. The first SWING went into operation in Gdansk at the beginning of October 2010 , and Stettin received its first train in February 2011 , which was followed by 5 more units in March.
On June 13, 2010, the first series model drove, which, according to the manufacturer, was followed by a second car in August. By the end of the year, 27 units had been delivered, at the start of the European Football Championship in 2012 there were a total of 120 units. By November 2013, all 186 copies ordered were put into operation to replace the 13Ns that were already over 40 years old and most of the 105Na . 6 of them are bidirectional wagons of subspecies 120NaDuo.
