PGS Gaming (Pentagram G-Shock) is a former Polish e-sports - Clan , which was founded in the year of 2004. Thanks in particular to the great success of the former Counter-Strike team, PGS managed to establish itself as one of the world's leading clans for a few years. At the end of 2007 there was a separation from the Counter-Strike section. PGS last appeared internationally at DreamHack 2009.

In addition to Counter-Strike, PGS Gaming was also active in Warcraft III, DotA, Quake, Call of Duty 4, FIFA and Need for Speed. The clan was led by Philipp "ryan" Kasprowicz and Marcin "Darky" Sieczkowski and was a member of the G7 teams . The PGS website was one of the largest e-sports news portals in Poland.

history

On April 8, 2004, the two biggest competitors of the Polish esports scene, Aristocracy and SpecSter , merged. The Pentagram company became the main sponsor and namesake (first Pentagram ConneXion , then Team Pentagram ).

The Counter-Strike team celebrated its first major successes when it won the ClanBase EuroCup X in early 2005 and brought the gold medal to Poland at the Samsung Euro Championship in 2005 . In the same year it also took part in the second season of the World e-Sports Games , for which the Poles moved to Asia for several months.

In 2006 the team, which had just been renamed from Pentagram G-Shock to PGS Gaming, finally rose to the top of the world with first place at the World Cyber Games . Since then, PGS has consistently been among the best teams in the world. In 2007 it received the eSports Award as eSports Team of the Year , and Counter-Strike player Filip “Neo” Kubski was honored twice ( Player of the Year and Counter-Strike Player of the Year ).

At the end of 2007 PGS could no longer hold on to the successful team and had to let them move towards MeetYourMakers . The clan announced that it did not want to take on a new Counter-Strike team because it could not match the success of the old team and such an investment would therefore not be profitable. The Warcraft III department, which was filled with foreign players, was thus the new flagship of PGS. In July 2008, shortly after the presentation of D-Link as the new main sponsor, it was announced that the contracts had not been extended and the team was leaving the clan in the direction of nGize.
