The POHÉV Eg 5-6 were electric locomotives Pozsony Országhatárszéli Helyiérdekű Villamos Vasút (POHÉ.V.) provided on the Bratislava city range of Pressburger Bahn were used.

history

In addition to the overland route operated with alternating current, the electric local railway Vienna - Pressburg ( Bratislava ) also ran two city routes with direct current. In 1913, the local railway procured two four-axle direct current locomotives with the designation Eg 5-6 for the Bratislava city line .

The machines had centrally arranged driver's cabs that carried two pantographs. Ballast weights of one ton each were built into the two low stems. The locomotives were clad with sheet metal and, as is customary in Hungary , painted dark green.

The system transition in Kopčany was accomplished with different heights of the catenary wires and a busbar pantograph attached to the side .

The machines were placed in the Kopčany Remise in 1920. From 1935 onwards, the locomotives were isolated there because the route that passed was re-gauged to meter gauge. In 1941 the locomotives were sold to Stern & Hafferl and brought to the Linz local railway .

  • Eg 5 became E 22.003 and is now located on the Mariazell – Erlaufsee museum tramway
  • Eg 6 became E 20.004 , later E 22.004 . It was only decommissioned in 2011 and put up for sale or scrapping by Stern & Hafferl. Thanks to a Slovak donation campaign, the locomotive was brought to Bratislava on October 27, 2011, where it was restored to its original state as a museum exhibit.
