Beginnings

Lunde already ran Olympic wrestling in the 76 kg class during his time at high school in Rome, Georgia, and has since been friends with the later referee Randy "Pee Wee" Anderson, who wrestled for another school. After high school, Lunde did powerlifting and developed an appropriate physique. He finally began his real name career in Georgia in January 1982, where he worked with Bob and Brad Armstrong. In Georgia, Ole Anderson acted as booker and because of his and Lunde's resemblance to one another, he was given the new name Arn Anderson . From then on, the "Andersons" formed The Minnesota Wrecking Crew . Together they feuded against the Road Warriors . Then Lunde went to Southeastern Championship Wrestling , a territory of the National Wrestling Alliance around Alabama and Tennessee . Here he won the NWA Tag Team Championship four times as Super Olympia between 1983 and 1984 with various partners . In March 1985, Lunde won the NWA National Tag Team Champion title with Ole Anderson.

The Four Horsemen

From 1985 to bookte the Andersons at Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling along with Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard , and they had numerous tag team matches in various constellations, with Lunde now with the biggest stars of the NWA, as Dusty Rhodes , Magnum TA or the Road Warriors could work. During an interview that Lunde conducted, he compared the team of four to the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the name Four Horsemen has stuck with the group ever since. In 1986 Lunde was also able to win the NWA Television Championship . Besides Ric Flair, he remained the only permanent member of the Four Horsemen. Together with Blanchard he won the NWA Tag Team Championship again in February 1987 .

WWF

In October 1988, Lunde and Blanchard went to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where they formed the tag team The Brain Busters . At the WWF, Lunde won the WWF World Tag Team Championship with Blanchard .

WCW

1989 Lunde returned to the now renamed World Championship Wrestling Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling and a reformation of the Four Horsemen followed. In 1990 and 1991 Lunde received the NWA / WCW Television Champion title three times before he and Larry Zbyszko formed The Enforcers Tag Team and won the WCW Tag Team Champion title . After losing the title, he got another tag team partner in Bobby Eaton and in 1992 was again WCW Tag Team Champion.

In May 1993 there was another reunion of the Four Horsemen, as a result of which Lunde received the WCW Tag Team title for a third time. In 1995 Lunde received the WCW Television title again, but from 1996 his appearances were less due to health reasons, which resulted from an unfortunate fall in a 1994 match. Lunde had to undergo an operation in late 1996 and finally announced his final resignation in August 1997.

Retired until today

After the end of his career, he only appeared occasionally in front of the camera, e. B. when the WCW staged another, short-term resurrection of the group in 1999. After that, Lunde worked as a road agent. After the takeover of WCW by WWE, he held the same post there from 2001 to 2019. During his time at WWE, Lunde had occasional appearances in front of the cameras, some of which he also took part in matches, but only to a limited extent due to his health. He has been under contract with All Elite Wrestling since the beginning of 2020 , where he appears as a trainer & manager alongside Cody .
