Products

PTC's product portfolio
  • The CAD software Creo is a software for product design processes. The functions can be used to examine initial ideas for concept development, create product designs, carry out simulations and analyzes, and carry out technical calculations. Creo offers 2D CAD, 3D CAD, parametric and direct modeling functions with which product developers can create, analyze, display and approve designs for subsequent processes.
  • With the PLM solution Windchill , all aspects of the product development cycle can be managed - from the concept to the service to the discontinuation of a product.
  • The Integrity software offers a uniform solution for software development and management as well as model-based system and software development for the ALM area .
  • In the area of service lifecycle management , PTC offers a portfolio of solutions under the name Servigistics that help companies maximize their service efficiency.
  • Mathcad is product design software that collects and communicates engineering calculations, key design parameters, and general design information.
  • With the acquisition of ThingWorx, Axeda Machine Cloud and Coldlight, PTC offers an IoT platform that includes connectivity, device clouds, business logic, big data, analytics and remote service applications.
  • The technology of Vuforia for augmented reality ( Augmented Reality ) and machine vision provides opportunities for the design, monitoring and control products as well as for training of operators and technicians in the proper use and maintenance methods.

history

The company was founded in 1985 by Samuel Petrovich Geisberg. Three years later marketed PTC with Pro / ENGINEER , the first parametric, associative and feature-based software for solid modeling. In 1992 it was named "Technology of the Year" by IndustryWeek.

After eight years in the market, Daratech chose PTC as the world's leading supplier of CAD / CAM / CAE software. The now widespread enterprise application Windchill 11 started in 1998 as the first Internet-based solution for product lifecycle management (PLM).

Since the beginning, the company has expanded through strategic acquisitions , for example in 2004 with the purchase of Mathsoft, the manufacturer of Mathcad .

In 2014, PTC took over the ThingWorx IoT platform . In July 2018, Rockwell Automation announced it would acquire $ 1 billion in PTC. PTC is valued at $ 11.5 billion.
