PTK (born April 6, 1988 in Berlin-Kreuzberg ) is a German rapper who is under contract with the independent label BombenProdukt.

Life

PTK, whose real name is unknown to the public, grew up in Berlin-Kreuzberg, where his parents were actively involved in the squatter scene. According to his own statements, he started making music at the age of 15 before he met rapper Herzog in 2009 . PTK released his debut album Typisch Deutsch on his label BombenProdukt in 2013 . In 2015 he accompanied KIZ on their tour to Hurray the world is ending . PTK's second album Ungerächte Welt entered the German album charts at number 20 in 2017 , while the EP Kein Mensch ist digital , which followed in 2019 , reached number 25.

In terms of content, the rapper clearly distinguishes himself from other, more commercially successful representatives of German rap with his explicitly socially critical texts that relate to topics such as racism or gentrification (displacement through rising rent) , without understanding himself as a political musician. In the left scene, PTK is controversial because of some of its lyrics. For example, he raps in the song Das Haus wird occupied , which appeared on the album Ungerächte Welt : "And if your landlord wants to clear your bum tomorrow / Stand in front of a few hooded people today".

stage name

The stage name PTK is an acronym and stands for "Mob kills king".
