Hurray, the world is coming is the fifth studio album of the Berlin Hip-Hop - Formation K.IZ . It was released on July 10, 2015 via the Universal label Vertigo as a standard and limited special edition, including mixtape and DVD . At the end of 2016, an accompanying live album was released with Hurra die Welt geht unter - Live from Wuhlheide Berlin .
marketing
On April 24, 2015, KIZ announced the release date, title, cover and track list of the album. At the same time, the music video Das Kannibalenlied was released on YouTube , which is not included on the album. On May 11, 2015, a video for Boom Boom Boom was published, on July 3 a video for the theme song Hurray the world is going down .
content
The mood and themes of the album are significantly more serious than those of previous releases by the group. Also, the songs are more consistent, similar to a concept album . In this case, KIZ do not see the end of the world negatively, but rather as a new beginning. The predominantly socially critical lyrics address the listener directly and no longer contain as much irony , cynicism and sarcasm as on earlier albums.
production
All songs on the album were produced by Nico KIZ and KevBeats. They were supported by Moses Schneider on nine songs . Gee Futuristic , Bazzazian, Grzegorz Olszowka and Sefo were also involved in individual productions .
Cover design
The album cover shows a rusty T-34/85 tank standing in a meadow. A little girl swings on the cannon barrel of the tank, turning her back to the viewer. In the background shot and overgrown skyscrapers can be seen against a red sky. Above in the picture is the white lettering KIZ Hurra the world is going down .
Guest Posts
In addition to KIZ, other artists appear on three songs on the album . The Berlin singer Sefo can be heard in Superstars , while the singer Henning May ( AnnenMayKantereit ) has a guest appearance on Hurra die Welt geht unter . Plus the song What Would Manny Marc Do? a collaboration with rappers Audio88 & Yassin and Manny Marc .

More about the songs
We
In the song Wir , the KIZ rappers stage themselves as divine beings, which portrays their prominent position in the German rap scene. In addition, they criticize an exaggerated worship of gods across all religions. We already celebrated its stage premiere at the Splash! -Festival 2014.
money
In this track, KIZ criticize capitalism in a partly ironic, partly very serious way, especially the increasing social inequality ("You water and bread - I champagne and coke"). Particular reference is made to the money in the title (“You are hungry in front of a bulging shop window - because of printed paper.”).
Boom boom boom
This song is an unusually unironic reckoning for a KIZ with a German society that is perceived as right-wing conservative. The political attitude of the members of KIZ is very clear and the listener is addressed directly (“Do you think the refugees got into party boats with the big dream of dealing drugs in the park?”; “You and your boss have nothing in common except for the Germany jersey! ").
Freefall
Freier Fall is a solo track by Tarek in which he deals with a failed relationship.

This song is about an office worker who takes on a submissive position in his job and lives out his sex and violence fantasies on the weekend. The eponymous Ariane is a minor girl who is forced to have sexual intercourse by the lyrical self.
Cage bed
This song satirically addresses the supposedly irresponsible upbringing of one's own parents and educators and the resulting hatred of the lyrical self for them. As an adult, he therefore wants to take revenge on them ("I have two bullets in the room, one for dad and one for mom").
What Would Manny Marc Do?
In this track, which is a feature with the Berlin rappers Yassin and Audio88, as well as with Die Atzen member Manny Marc, the stanzas of a child abused by their own father, a couple with a mentally handicapped child, a son who cares for his alcoholic father and describes the fate of a refugee child. At the end of each part, based on the sentence What would Jesus do, Manny Marc is asked for advice. This then asks the listener in the hook, which is kept in the typical etching style, to come with him to the "hype disco". This is in stark contrast to the very serious stanzas.
Hurray the world is ending
The title track of the album is a cooperation with the singer Henning May and describes a post-apocalyptic scenario. However, this does not have a negative connotation, but is described as a society to be striven for in the style of an anarchist utopia.

Hurray the world goes under rose to number 1 in the German album charts on July 17, 2015 , which meant the first top position in the top 100 for KIZ. The album received positive reviews almost across the board.
Alexander Austel from laut.de rated Hurray the world is going under with five out of a possible five points. KIZ continued to develop on the album “with a sound that sounds very seamless, a personal song and the sometimes dry-direct and then again exaggerated style of presentation”, “without foregoing their strengths or what they are all about . "The album offers" an hour of concentrated entertainment without failure, but with a lot of food for thought, one or the other nightmare imagination, witty criticism of you and me as well as the fantasy of a world apart from constraints, greed and overtime. "
Florian Peking from MZEE also rated the album positively. The “usual absurdity” of the lyrics remains, but “a few new facets are added.” Because “the Berliners name grievances in society and everyday life and take a clear stand.” Thus, KIZ drew “the end of the world in an unprecedented way” on their album Beauty."
