Vacation for the brain is the fourth studio album of the Berlin Hip-Hop -Formation KIZ . It was released on June 3, 2011 via the Universal label Vertigo .
marketing
In the run-up to the album's release, the song Just the Two of Us was released on January 26, 2011 on the Internet. In addition, a snippet of the album appeared online on May 10, 2011.
Two days before the album was released, Marcus Staiger , the discoverer and former KIZ label boss, put the supposed album on the Internet for download. This version contained 16 tracks with easily produced beats and rap verses, which were completely different from the original album.

In contrast to the previous album Sexismus gegen Rechts , the album again contains more rapped choruses, is overall heavier and the sound is more based on cockfight .
production
A total of ten producers were involved in the album. Tai Jason is represented with four productions ( Kiss me on the tail , Marry , In his mother , Mr. Weird ), while Ronald Mack Donald produced the single Vacation for the Brain . The beats for Raus aus dem Amt , Tsetsefliegenmann (Skit) and Koksen ist Scheiße come from Nico KIZ, at Lauf weg and Der durch die Scheibeboxxxer Philipp Hoppen was at his side. Grzegorz Olszowka produced HIT and, in collaboration with Philipp Hoppen Doitschland, abolishes himself or, with Beat Gottwald, heads the department of love . Gee Futuristic created the beat for cheating and Robot Koch produced Lach mich tot . Justinn "Axis" Patton is also responsible for the production of meat , which is a cover version of Brotha Lynch Hung's title Meat , while Coom Beats produced the bonus track Biergarten Eden . Philipp Hoppen mixed the album.
Cover design
The album cover was released on April 19, 2011 on the Internet. Four black and white photos were taken of the band members, each with a device attached to their head that reveals their red-designed brains. In the lower right corner of the picture, the words KIZ and Urlaub fürs Kirchen are written in white . The illustration with Nico was chosen as the main motif, but the other three motifs are also in the booklet.

Doitschland abolishes itself
As the title suggests, this song is a parody of the book Germany Abolishes Itself by Thilo Sarrazin . In the song, however, instead of foreigners, KIZ rap about women as alien beings who do not want to integrate on earth and should be shot back into space.
Department head of love
In the rather calmer song, KIZ fundamentally criticize leaders and capitalism. In a funny and sarcastic way, they describe how to deal with crises and layoffs from the perspective of a leader. In the music video of the track, the life and affair of Uwe Barschel is parodied. The group is critical of Barschel's attempt to make the unequivocal evidence in the affair with Sympathy personally implausible. In the video, his life is thematized from the allegations to suicide. The word of honor in the Barschel affair is quoted in the music video. In addition, at the end of the music video you can see a photographer photographing the dead department head in a bathtub. This is another allusion to the Barschel affair, in particular to the then controversial Stern cover of the dead Uwe Barschel.

Fleisch is a solo track by Tarek. In the song, he raps from the point of view of a single father who, due to his job loss, begins to kill and cook people in order to get by with his son and himself. In addition to the beat, there are also many lyrical parallels to the track Meat by Brotha Lynch Hung .
To cheat on
This title describes a failed fictional relationship because both parties can not help cheating on each other and also lists numerous clichés about it. This track was released as the second single from the album after a vacation for the brain and a video was made for it. Various sexual preferences are shown in the video, such as: B. foot fetishism, golden shower (i.e. urinating on the sexual partner) and dominance in both sexes.
Run away
A follow-up song to Neuruppin from the album Hahnenkampf . Here, too, the rappers tell of the murders they commit and advise the listener to run away.
The one through the Scheibeboxxxer
Another follow-up song to Los geht’s ( Böhse Enkelz ) and Der Durch Die Tür Geher ( Hahnenkampf ). The beat and the text come from Nico, who also raps it solo, again from the point of view of an unkempt, rioting alcoholic with a Berlin dialect . The song samples the song Let's Go by Trick Daddy feat. Twista and Lil Jon , which in turn samples the track Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne . However, in contrast to Los Geht’s from KIZ from the mixtape Böhse Enkelz, it is no longer a direct sample from Let's Go , but a replayed sample (interpolation).
Coke sucks
In this song, the rappers rave about using marijuana. The title "Koksen ist Scheiße" criticizes the use of cocaine in higher circles, while KIZ oppose it, instead smoke cannabis and thus rely on slowness.

The album entered the German charts at number 4 in the 25th calendar week of 2011 and stayed in the top 100 for twelve weeks.
20 May 2011 in advance of the same single was released vacations for the brain , including the bonus songs Boo , downloaded from the Internet. It received a gold record for over 150,000 sales in Germany in 2018 . A video for the theme song was also released eight days later. On July 29, 2011 the video for the second digital single Fremdiegen celebrated its premiere on MyVideo . Both singles could not place in the charts. On November 8, 2011, a music video for the song Abteilungsleiter der Liebe followed , which was released as the last single on November 25.

Dani Fromm from laut.de rated the album with three out of a possible five points. She describes vacation for the brain as "overall very mixed," which is not due to the texts, but to the production, which is described as an "electro and eurodance plague", which is "extremely strenuous". In terms of content, the rappers throw around "with quotes from music and film history and exaggerate the regulars' table and shit house slogans to the point of comic-style, making the seriousness of beer [...] ridiculous." annoying in the long run.
