Pabré is both a municipality ( French commune rurale ) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the Center region and the province of Kadiogo . The municipality has 28,265 in 19 villages, the majority of them Mossi .
Pabré borders the capital Ouagadougou on National Road 1 and has a seminary that was attended by former President Maurice Yaméogo and Joseph Ki-Zerbo , among others . The seminary was founded in 1925 by Joanny Thévenoud .
