Painted Desert Serenade is Joshua Kadison's debut studio album . It was released in 1993 on SBK, a sub-label of Capitol Records . There were two single releases, both of which made it into the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 .

Bryan Buss reviewed the album for Allmusic and called it “chock full of odes to find romance, longing for romance and losing romance”, calling it “full of odes in which romance can be found, longed for and lost”.
