Painted Peak (English for painted tip ) is a 710 m high and prominent mountain in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It looms in the North Masson Range of the Framnes Mountains .
Norwegian cartographers mapped it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . A team from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions visited it in 1955 and named it descriptively after the striking red-brown color of its rock.
