Painzela is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Painzela is part of the Cabeceiras de Basto district in the Braga district . The community had an area of ​​7.3 km² and 959 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Painzela, Refojos de Basto and Outeiro were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Refojos de Basto, Outeiro e Painzela .
