Palanca is a district of Kilamba Kiaxi , a municipality in the Angolan capital Luanda .
The term Palanca is also a common name in Angola for animals of the genus of the bluebock (extinct), the horse antelope and the sable antelope , originating in Africa.
Famous are the Palancas Negras ("black antelopes", a short form of the Palanca Negra Gigante ), with which the Angolan national football team is also affectionately referred to. It is also the official heraldic animal of Angola and can be seen on the fuselage of all aircraft of the state airline, TAAG Angola Airlines .
