The Palace of Science and Technology (과학 기술 전당 건설 장) or Sci-Tech Complex is a research and study center built in 2015 in Pyongyang , North Korea . The institute not only serves research and development, but also training. The exterior of the building resembles an atom . In addition, outdoor facilities such as parks and fountains were created. In the central hall, which extends up to the 3rd floor, there is a model of a rocket. There are also places for distance learning, conferences, symposia and exhibitions. There is an adventure area for children, called the dream hall , and a museum for the history of the development of science and technology has been set up. A dam several kilometers long was built to protect against flooding. The total area is 106,600 m² and will therefore be almost as large as that of the Great People's Study Hall. For the most part, members of the Korean People's Army were used for the construction . The Chungsong Bridge received a three-lane feeder, and a new line of the trolleybus was set up here. Up to 500 guests can stay overnight in an adjoining building.

Kim Jong-un visited the completed buildings on October 28, 2015. The official opening took place on January 1, 2016 . The Sci-Tech Complex is located on Ssuk-sŏm Island in Taedong-gang in the Rakrang-guyŏk district in Pyongyang.
