It is the most westerly of the six bridges that lead over the Taedong Gang in Pyongyang . The bridge was completed in 1983.
The bridge has two tracks in each direction of travel and one track for the tram. There is a pedestrian walkway on both sides. It has an entrance to Ssuk-sŏm Island , where the Ssuk-sŏm Historical Revolutionary Memorial and the Palace of Science and Technology , opened in 2016, are located. A line of the trolleybus Pyongyang also goes there . Following its course to the south, the road leads directly to the memorial for the reunification and provides a connection to Tongil Road .
