The Palau Trench is a deep sea channel up to 8138 m deep and 300 km long in the western part of the Pacific Ocean (Pacific).

geography

The Palau Trench is located approximately between the Philippines basin in the northwest and north, the Yap Islands with the Yap Trench in the Northeast, the West Caroline Basin in the southeast and south and the Palau Islands in the west. It is roughly between 6 and 8 ° north latitude and 132 and 134 ° east longitude .

geology

The Palau Trench forms part of the deeply carved seam of the Philippine plate in the west and the Pacific plate in the east.
