Palazzo Molin a San Basegio is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the Dorsoduro sestiere with a view of the Canale della Giudecca at the western end of the Fondamenta delle Zattere , opposite the Molino Stucky .

description

The Palazzo Molin a San Basegio, which was built in the 16th century, has the typical structure of bourgeois, Venetian tenement houses from this period with various apartments around an atrium with a fountain in the middle. The building has three full floors and two mezzanine floors , one above the ground floor and one below the roof. The facades appear in rough brickwork because the old, red paint has fallen off.

The ground floor has eight openings, six simple, rectangular portals and two rectangular windows. The openings of the two mezzanine floors are single rectangular windows on all sides in simple stone frames. The largest windows can be found on the main floors, a series of individual arched windows , on the two main facades (to the south to the Canale della Giudecca and to the north to the Campo San Basegio ) interrupted by two triple windows per floor, separated by Doric columns and provided with protruding stone balconies .
