Palazzo San Pio X

The Palazzo San Pio X (short: Palazzo Pio ) is a building on Via della Conciliazione in the Roman district of Borgo and serves as the seat of several authorities of the Roman Curia as well as the Canadian and Taiwanese embassies at the Holy See . It is one of the extra-territorial possessions of the Holy See and, according to Pius X named.

The palazzo is at the eastern end of Via della Conciliazione . It occupies a whole block north of the Conciliazione and is also bordered to the west by Via della Trasportina , to the north by Borgo Sant 'Angelo and the Passetto di Borgo behind it, as well as by Piazza Pia . The park and ramparts of the Castel Sant'Angelo are on the opposite side of the street .

The Palazzo was ceded to the Holy See by the Italian state in 1979 in exchange for the Palazzo della Dataria near the Quirinal Palace .
