The Palisade Nunatak (English for Palisade Nunatak ) is an approximately 150 m high nunatak on the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It rises north of Röhss Bay and 3 km southeast of Hidden Lake . The burr-free and columnar structure of the Nunatak is the largest elevation of hard intrusive rock on the island.
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out between 1960 and 1961 was used to map it. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1964 for its resemblance to a palisade .
