Extraction and presentation
Palladium (II, IV) fluoride can be obtained by reaction of palladium with chlorine to form palladium (II, IV) chloride and the subsequent displacement of the chlorine by fluorine at 200 to 250 ° C.

Palladium (II, IV) fluoride is a black, rhombic solid that is hydrolyzed by water. It is soluble in acids and alkalis and is reduced to metal by hydrogen at room temperature under the appearance of a fire. It has a rhombohedral distorted crystal structure of the rhenium (VI) oxide type.
