The Pallan Bolong ( French spelling Pallan Bôlon , rarely Palian ) is a right tributary of the West African Gambia River .
geography
The Pallan Bolong rises in the Gambian - Senegalese border area in the Tambacounda region (Senegal). The river flows for a length of about 15 kilometers in a westerly direction until it flows into the Gambia River in Kuntaur .
The water is very swampy, numerous plants such as the water hyacinths ( Eichhornia ) mostly cover the water surface. The biodiversity of the water birds that can be found here is great.
The addition Bolong , which has many tributaries of the Gambia, means "moving water" or "tributary" in the Mandinka language .
