Paltoga ( Russian Палтога ) is a village in northwestern Russia with 295 inhabitants (as of 2002). It belongs to the Wytegra Raion within the Vologda Oblast .

geography

Paltoga is about six kilometers southeast of Lake Onega . The regional road R37, which connects Paltoga with the district center of Wytegra 16 kilometers to the east, runs through the village .

history

The town was founded on 27 June 2001 by the merger of the villages Akulowo ( Акулово ) Aristowo ( Аристово ) Wasjukowo ( Васюково ) Kasakowo ( Казаково ) Korobeinikowo ( Коробейниково ) Kuznetsovo ( Кузнецово ) Paltogski perevoz ( Палтогский Перевоз ) Ruchtinowo ( Рухтиново ), Semjonowo ( Семёново ), Sukharevo ( Сухарево ), Tronino ( Тронино ), Ugolschtschina ( Угольщина ), Chebakovo ( Чебарево ) and Jaschkово ( Чебарево ). With its establishment, Paltoga replaced the place Kazakowo as the administrative center of the Selskoje posselenije Kazakowskoje ( Сельское поселение Казаковское ).

At the All-Russian Census of 2002, Paltoga had 295 inhabitants (135 men, 160 women), of whom 99% were Russians. The rural community Kazakowskoje selskoje posselenije, to which nine other villages belong, has a total of 524 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

Infrastructure

In the village there is a school, several shops, two Feldscher -Points ( Фельдшерско-акушерский пункт ) which provide basic medical care, two libraries and three cultural institutions. Furthermore, there are in the village cemetery with the wooden Epiphany Church ( Церковь Богоявления Господня ) built in 1733 and the stone church of the icon of the Mother of God built in 1810 from the sign ( Церковь иконы Бонаере Матены Бонаере Марковь . Due to a lack of restoration work, the Epiphany Church collapsed in 2009.
