The Paltramplatz located in the 10th Vienna district , favorites , in a grid area between Neilreichgasse and Laxenburger street southwest of the district center. The area was incorporated in 1892, the square was named in 1895 after the old Viennese family of Paltram , who owned a castle in Unterlaa in the 13th century . One of them, Paltram in front of the Freithof , held a leading position similar to a mayor in Vienna from 1260 to 1276. The square belongs to the cadastral municipality of Inzersdorf-Stadt , not to be confused with today's Inzersdorf in the 23rd district. The square can be reached with the tram lines O and 67, which run on Laxenburger Straße.
Location and characteristics
The rectangular Paltramplatz is located in the built-up area on the northern slope of the Wienerberg between Van-der-Nüll-Gasse (in the west), Angeligasse (in the north), Leebgasse (in the east) and Hardtmuthgasse (in the south of the square), whose lanes continue on the square. There is an unnamed park in the rectangle of the lanes. All of the adjacent alleys are one-way , there is no public transport.
The building consists of residential buildings on the southern and western sides of the square, while there are still commercial operations at ground level in the north and east. The house numbers of the adjacent streets are interrupted by the numbering on Paltramplatz, as usual in a clockwise direction.
