The Pampero Pass is an approximately 750 m high mountain pass at the boundary between the Fallières Coast of Graham Lands and Rymill Coast of Palmer Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It runs in a north-south direction between Mount Edgell and the Mistral Ridge . The pass is a convenient sledding route between the Wordie Ice Shelf and the Eureka Glacier .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1977 after the Pampero , an often stormy southwest wind from the Argentine Andes .
