Pan painter
The Pan Painter was a Greek vase painter of the strictly Attic red-figure style. The emergency name is derived from a bell crater in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston , showing Pan chasing a shepherd and showing the death of the Aktaion on the reverse .
He was a student of Myson and worked from 480 to 450 BC. Chr. He painted except craters Peliken , hydriai and amphorae . Over a hundred vessels are ascribed to him.
The depiction in his subjects shows freshness, agility, humor and irony. His figures are partly rough, partly sensitive and reveal his origins in the Doric and Ionic art circles. It can be assigned to the Doric-Ionian early classical period.
