Pan (crater)

Pan is the largest impact crater on Jupiter's moon Amalthea .
Its diameter is in the range of 100 km and the depth is 8 km. The approximate coordinates of the center are -80.000000, -90.000000. Pan was spotted in the images of the Voyager 1 spacecraft in 1979 and was later photographed in greater detail by Galileo .
Naming
The crater was named by the IAU in 1979 after Pan the shepherd god .
