The basket weave (Engl. Basketweave , Oxfordcloth ) is a term used in weaving technology .

nature

This is a variant of the plain weave . In contrast to plain weave, not just single, but two or more parallel warp and weft threads are woven in a compartment . The fabric has a checkerboard or cube pattern resulting from the weave. In Otto Luegers : Lexicon of the entire technology it says on the nature of the Panama weave: If warp and weft threads are put together several times (in bundles) (cube canvas, Panama weave), the result is the foulard and the louisine.

Occurrence

Natté is a textile fabric that can be woven in this bond. The binding is used for handicraft materials and household textiles.
