Pang Junxu ( Chinese  庞俊旭 , Pinyin Páng Jùn Xù ; * February 15, 2000 ) is a Chinese snooker player .

Career

At the age of 13, Pang Junxu was allowed to take part in the Asian Tour of the Players Tour Championship for the first time in the 2013/14 season . It took him until the fourth tournament, the Dongguan Open , to get his first win, but then he reached the round of 32, where he was eliminated 4-1 by Ken Doherty . It was his only success in 3 years at PTC. In 2017, as a 17-year-old, he reached the round of 16 at the U21 World Cup in his own country, but it wasn't until 2019 that his breakthrough came. Due to national performances, he got wild cards for the China Open and the World Championship qualification . At the World Cup, he beat the professional player Stuart Carrington 10: 6 and was then able to keep up against Kurt Maflin , although he lost 7:10. He then attended the Q School to qualify for the professional tour, but was unsuccessful. In the same year he reached the final at the U21 World Cup , which he lost 6-1 against his compatriot Zhao Jianbo , and at the Amateur World Cup towards the end of the year he reached the semi-finals.

Although he was unable to use any other wildcards in the 2019/20 season, he played a very successful national professional tour . He reached 2nd place in the CBSA Tour ranking and was thus allowed to start the Snooker Main Tour for the following two years.
