features

The species has a central band of teeth on the palatine bone , an enlarged gland on the humerus, and a long humeral process. It differs from the very similar species Pangasius humeralis in that it has a smaller, more forwardly sitting eye, the shorter tooth ligament and the approximately twice as large adipose fin . The fins are dark. The type specimen had a length of 40 cm, 19 rays on the first arch of the gill trap and an anal fin with probably 31 soft rays. His stomach contained several hard plant seeds.
