The Pangpoche (also Pangpoche I , Pang Phuchi or Panpoche ) is a 6620 m high mountain in Nepal .
The Pangpoche is 14.8 km east-northeast of Manaslu . The upper reaches of the Budhigandaki runs along its western flank in a southerly direction. There is the Samdo settlement at an altitude of 3870 m . The Tibetan border is just 1.6 km away in the northeast. The notch to the next higher mountain is the 4998 m high Rui La (also Lajing Bhanjyang ). The notch height is 1622 m. A mountain ridge leads from Pangpoche to the northeast to the neighboring mountain Samdo ( 6335 m ). Another mountain ridge leads to the south-southeast to the neighboring summit Pangpoche II ( 6504 m ).
Ascent history
The Pangpoche has not yet been climbed. In September 2009 a Japanese expedition tried unsuccessfully to climb the Pangpoche for the first time.
