The Panhard Junior was a small roadster that Panhard manufactured between 1952 and 1956. A total of 4714 copies were built.

It was decided to build it at the request of an American importer named Ferguson, who proposed to offer a small roadster in his country. Ferguson eventually pulled out of the matter, but Panhard ultimately built the Junior. It had the chassis of the Dyna X model . Unlike the Dyna X, its body was made of sheet steel. The result was a small roadster with astonishing performance and the famous good road holding of a Panhard. His trunk was accessible by flipping the back of the two-seat bench. Spartan and light as it was, it became the car dream of the youth.

As normal and sprint version it had 4 or 5 CV (French tax horsepower).

Its construction originated in the studio of the Karrossier Di Rosa and was then built very quickly in the Panhard factory in Orléans .

From 1953, in addition to this roadster, there was also a convertible with side crank windows and larger doors. The structure of the Junior was changed so that three people could now be seated on the bench. In the same year, the chassis inherited from the Dyna X model gave way to an aluminum construction that was reminiscent of the new Dyna Z presented in June .

The amazing resemblance of the Nissan Figaro to the Panhard Junior leaves no doubt as to the source of inspiration for the Japanese designers. This two-seater convertible in a retro design, which was released in 1991, relies on the sympathy that was once given to the junior in elegant pastel colors.
