The Panhard Dyna X was released in 1945 by the French car manufacturer Panhard as the first post-war model and was produced until 1954. Panhard had completely turned away from the luxury vehicles with slide engines, as they were made before the Second World War . Instead, the AFG Grégoire project was taken over from Jean-Albert Grégoire and developed for series production.
The light car of the lower middle class had an air-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine with an initially 610 cm³ displacement and 24 HP (17.6 kW) power. Later there were also variants with 745 cm³ and 851 cm³ displacement. The performance increased to 40 HP (29 kW). The cars had four-speed gearboxes (gearshift lever under the dashboard) that transmitted the engine power to the front wheels. The maximum speed, depending on the engine, was 110 to 130 km / h. Accordingly, the models were also called Dyna 110 , Dyna 120 and Dyna 130 . When the Dyna X was launched, it weighed 825 kg.
The vehicles had tubular frame chassis and, for the first time, aluminum bodies . In addition to the four-door sedan, a two-door cabriolet and a three-door station wagon were also offered. Customers particularly appreciated the low fuel consumption (around 6 liters / 100 km) of the Dyna X.
A total of about 55,000 pieces were built. The successor to the Dyna X was the Dyna Z model .
