The Dyna-Veritas is a passenger car from the former German automobile manufacturer Veritas or as a successor to Dyna Automobil-Import und -Export GmbH from Baden-Baden , which was produced from 1950 to 1953. A total of 169, 176 or 184 copies were made. The Dyna-Veritas was presented to the public in May 1950 at the automobile show in Reutlingen.

Base

The vehicle was created using the technique of the Panhard Dyna X . The entire drive train with the front (light metal) subframe and parts of the rear axle was taken over. In March 1950 Panhard delivered the first chassis to the company "Veritas - Badische Automobilwerke Rastatt" in Muggensturm. The box frame was self-supporting. At the customer's request, the luxurious car was equipped with reclining seats, a radio and a cigarette lighter.

Engine and performance

The original air-cooled two - cylinder boxer engine with 744 cm³ displacement and 32 hp provided the drive . The engine was installed in the front of the vehicle and drove the front wheels. The maximum speed was given as 120 km / h. The 850 cm³ engine with 30 kW was installed in the Belgian sprint versions.

body

Baur manufactured the bodies of the convertible . Some vehicles were also bodied as a coupe . In addition, further body variants in prototype status were created from 1950.

mass and weight

With a wheelbase of 218 cm and a track width of 122 cm, the vehicle length was 390 cm, the vehicle width 145 cm and the vehicle height 138 cm. The curb weight was specified as 720 kg and the permissible total weight as 1100 kg.

Factory price

The new price was initially 8,300 DM , which increased from 1952 to 9,300 DM. Comparable convertibles were cheaper. The DKW F 89 Meisterklasse Cabriolet only cost 7,730 DM. Volkswagen lowered the price of its VW Beetle Cabriolet to 6,950 DM in autumn 1952.

Of the max. 180 Dyna Veritas convertibles produced, 10 vehicles are now preserved. In addition, 3 coupes are known.

A convertible from 1952 was auctioned in February 2020 for 70,150 euros .
