The armored leg is a heraldic figure in the coat of arms . A slightly angled leg is shown, cut off at the thigh , which is clothed with armor (armor). If three of these legs are put together like windmill blades , they form a triskele .

Just as the leg, also has the human in armor arm as Panzerarm its place in heraldry. It is preferred because different objects in the hand can create additional expressiveness. Flags, swords and rings ( Stargard arm ) are popular.

According to the position in the coat of arms , when the arm protrudes from the left edge of the shield and is angled (not straight), it is referred to as a right arm . The left arm protrudes from the right edge . Armored and / or holding an object is possible. It is widely used as a helmet accessory .
