Paolo Antonio Pisoni
Paolo Antonio Pisoni (born November 7, 1738 in Ascona ; † November 7, 1804 in Solothurn ) was a Swiss architect .
Career
As a student of his uncle Gaetano Matteo Pisoni , he helped him build the St. Ursus Cathedral in Solothurn from 1763 to 1770 . After the two had initially been dismissed for reasons of economy, he was recalled in 1772 and completed the church by 1790. Next to and afterwards he created numerous public buildings as Solothurn's cantonal master builder. As a cantonal master builder, he managed the renovation and construction of private houses, chapels, bridges, streets, numerous parsonages and inns.
He is buried in the St. Martins Church in Zuchwil .
