The parrot bridge in Hanover is a 1990 renovated prestressed concrete - bridge . It leads from the end of Seufzerallee over the Leine to Maschsee .
history
The bridge was first built in 1910 as the "Elisabeth Bridge" in wood construction and initially created a connection between the Schnellen Graben and the Maschwiesen. In the vernacular , however, the originally brightly painted wooden bridge was jokingly referred to as the "parrot bridge". When the bridge was rebuilt in 1953 from prestressed concrete, the name was officially adopted.
The bridge was last renewed in 1990.
