Papito Monteiro

Papito Monteiro (born August 31, 1975 in Lospalos , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of the Partido Social Democrata (PSD) .

Career

Monteiro went to school in his hometown of Lospalos before studying at the Sekolah Tinggi Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri STPDN (College of Internal Administration) in West Java .

In 2001, Monteiro worked for the United Nations Interim Administration for East Timor (UNTAET).

On August 29, 2007, Monteiro was appointed State Secretary for Rural Development and Cooperatives in the IV Constitutional Government of East Timor . At the end of 2008, Monteiro gave up his post due to health reasons. The post was no longer filled. Monteiro later worked for the Institute for Trade Promotion IADE in the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

In 2017, Monteiro was Vice President of the PSD. He also ran at number 4 on the PSD list for the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2017 . However, the PSD failed because of the 3 percent hurdle.
