Pappelwerder is part of the municipality of Mittenwalde in the Uckermark district (Brandenburg). The small settlement was established before 1825.

The municipality of Pappelwerder is located 2.8 km west-southwest of the center of Haßleben and 2.9 km north-north-west of Mittenwalde on Lake Kuhzer between Haßlebenscher Lanke and Mittenwaldscher Lanke. Pappelwerder can be reached from Mittenwalde first via the B 109 in the direction of Haßleben, and then shortly after Mittenwalde via a small road. The road ends in Pappelwerder. The settlement is about 76  m above sea level. NHN . To the east of the small settlement are three small ponds that are elongated in a north-south direction.

The settlement was built before 1825 as an expanded farm belonging to the Düsing farmer in Mittenwalde. In the Urmes table sheet 2747 Boitzenburg from 1825 he is called Papenwerder . In 1840 it is listed as a Papenwerder farm under Mittenwalde. Like Mittenwalde, it belonged to von Rieben's heirs.

In 1860 Pappelwerder is again under Mittenwalde. It consisted of a house and two farm buildings and had 8 residents. Unfortunately no size is given. The animal population amounted to 4 horses, 3 head of cattle and 30 sheep.

In 1871, Pappelwerder was also listed under Mittenwalde; it consisted of a residential building and had 4 residents.

In 1897 Pappelwerder was designated as an extension to the Mittenwalde estate. In 1925 Pappelwerder had 7 residents.

In 1929 Pappelwerder belonged to Franz Schröder. The yard had a size of 23 hectares. Of this, 15 hectares were arable land, 2 hectares of meadows, 2 hectares of pastures, 2 hectares of woodland and 2 hectares of land. The animal population was 3 horses, 11 head of cattle, including 5 cows, 4 sheep and 10 pigs.

Pappelwerder belonged to the Mittenwalde manor district. In 1874 the manor district of Mittenwalde with Pappelwerder was assigned to district 3 Kröchlendorf. Head of office was Landrath a. D. Oskar von Arnim, manor owner on Kröchlendorf. The deputy was Administrator Meyer auf Kröchlendorf. In 1928, the Mittenwalde manor district with Pappelwerder, with the Blankensee and Kienwerder manors, the Seeburg manor of the Ruhhof manor district, and parcels of the Seeburg district of the Kröchlendorff manor district were combined to form the municipality of Mittenwalde. In 1931, 1950 and 1967 Pappelwerder was listed as a residential area in Mittenwalde. In 1992 Mittenwalde merged with nine other municipalities to form the Gerswalde Office . Today Pappelwerder has the status of a part of the municipality of Mittenwalde.
