Papyrus 30 (named after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 30 ) is an early Greek copy of the New Testament . This papyrus manuscript of the Pauline letters consists of 1. Thes 4,12-5,18. 25-28; 2nd theses 1,1-2; 2,1.9-11. It was dated to the early 3rd century by means of paleography . It is a very carefully executed handwriting.

description

The code is written in large uncial letters . The noun sacra are abbreviated. Due to the number of pages, it is believed that the manuscript was originally a collection of Paul's letters.

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type (or rather a Proto-Alexandrian text type). Kurt Aland placed it in Category I a. According to Comfort, the manuscript is more in agreement with the Codex Sinaiticus than with the Codex Vaticanus (in 11 of 13 variants).

According to Grenfell , it corresponds in four cases with B against א A , once with BA against א, twice with א A against B and once with א against B A.

It is currently kept in the University of Ghent (Inv. 61) in Ghent .
