Papyrus 55 (named after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 55 ) is an early Greek copy of the New Testament . This papyrus manuscript of the Gospel of John contains only verses 1.31-33.35-38. It was dated to the 6th or 7th century using paleography .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type . Aland placed him in Category II .

The manuscript is currently kept in the Austrian National Library (Pap. Vindob. G. 26214) in Vienna .
