Papyrus 61 (named after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 61 ) is an early Greek copy of the New Testament . This papyrus manuscript contains a part of Paul's letters . It was dated to the 7th century by means of paleography .

The following verses have been preserved in the fragments:

  • Romans 16 : 23-27
  • 1 Corinthians 1: 1-2.4-6; 5.1-3.5-6.9-13
  • Philippians 3: 5-9.12-16
  • 1 Thessalonians 1,2-3
  • Titus 3,1-5.8-11.14-15
  • Philemon 4-7

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type . Kurt Aland placed him in Category II .

The manuscript is currently housed in The Morgan Library & Museum under the call number P. Colt 5 in New York City .
