The Paracelsus-Bad ( pronunciation ? / I ) is an indoor swimming pool in Berlin . It is located on Roedernallee in the Reinickendorf district of the district of the same name , not far from the Paracelsus-Bad underground station ( line U8 ) and the Alt-Reinickendorf S-Bahn station ( line S25 ). The pool has a swimming pool with a size of 25 mx 12.5 m and is between 1.25 m and 3.5 m deep. It has a 1 meter and a 3 meter springboard. The non-swimmer pool has a size of 11.5 mx 9 m. In addition, the bathroom has a sauna with two cold and one warm plunge pool, whirlpool , dry sauna, steam sauna, relaxation room, massage room and an oasis of calm in the open air.

history

The foundation stone was laid on July 20, 1957. At the same time, it was the construction of the first indoor swimming pool in Berlin after the end of the Second World War . The pool was opened on October 29, 1960. The construction costs for the pool were 6.598 million marks (adjusted for purchasing power in today's currency: around 16.08 million euros). The name Paracelsus -Bad was chosen from among the submissions from 365 students at a jury meeting.
