action

Six teenagers want to stay at the old Odenbrook Sanatorium to improve their college grades and use their technical equipment to prove the presence of paranormal activity. The Odenbrook Sanatorium was closed 60 years earlier for mass suicide of treated patients.

John wakes up in a hospital with a battered face. In one corner is the psychologist Rebecca, who tells him that he is suspected of having murdered his friends Tess, Sam, Daniel and the couple Blake and Brennan. John denies this and tries to explain his situation, but does not trust him. Rebecca believes John, but wants him to go over video with her to find evidence of his innocence. The video footage was taken by his friends during their stay at the Odenbrook Sanatorium and Rebecca wants to find out what really happened there.

The film continues 4 days earlier: The friends film each other as they prepare for their company, one learns that not everyone believes in the paranormal and that they mainly come along because of their grades. In between, several sex scenes are faded in, apparently by Brennan and Blake; they become important later.

After arriving at the sanatorium, the six set up camp after discovering that there is only one entrance. However, John soon says goodbye because he got a call that his grandmother had fallen. He rejects all suggestions for an escort and repeatedly asserts that he will be back on Sunday. After a brief change of scene, you see him saying, “Sometimes you have to show people the truth so that they can see it. See you bums! They have no idea what to expect in there… ”lock the entrance with a chain and leave the premises.

The friends who stayed in the sanatorium begin to explore the building and document historical aspects. Sometimes they think they hear noises, but when they look they find nothing. When night falls, they split up into groups and roam through the walls, which are now shrouded in darkness, in search of paranormal occurrences. Suddenly occurring noises and supposed movements hit the minds of the five more. In a kind of dormitory, Sam and Daniel hear footsteps and try to contact the suspected interworld beings through questions.

Back at camp, Sam informs the others that the next day is the anniversary of the mass suicide 60 years ago. Brennan unpacks the drinks he has brought with him, the other scenes suggest that they are alcoholic drinks. Only Blake does not seem to be drinking, because in the middle of the drinking party she asks Brennan in a sober tone to come and talk to her. Daniel sneaks up with the camera and films the conversation between the two of them: Blake tells Brennan that he was cheating on her because she saw the tape (which is apparently the sex tape shown initially in excerpts). Brennan tries to defend himself, but Blake decides to leave the group and go home.

Reviews

“A group of students moves to a haunted clinic for research purposes and experiences their blue miracle. Atmospherically dense low-budget horror in the haunted house based on the currently popular found footage model . "

“Paranormal Investigations 4 can hardly convince and only relies on the success of the cinema series. Because without them this boring film might not have existed. 4 points [out of 10] for the few shocking moments and the halfway interesting story. "
