action
Because an entire family was killed in Seth Masterson's house 20 years ago, the ghosts of the victims never rest. That's why Seth Masterson tries to put an end to the ghost with the help of the ghost hunter Carter Simms.
The ghost hunter Carter Simms is offered $ 5,000 by Seth to spend a weekend at the Masterson house. There he is supposed to investigate paranormal activities. Seth hires Colin Green as a videographer and Yvette Sandoval as a journalist. Together they set up their equipment and look for evidence of ghosts or paranormal activity. The group is accompanied by Mary Young Mortensen, a young member of the Mastersons Church. She claims that she was also sent by the owner of the house to assist with the investigation. She also states that she is there to protect the Masterson's reputation because they have been great members of her church. The group stays in the Masterson house for three days. Some mysterious things happen: the room temperature in the master bedroom drops dramatically in a short time; a chair moves by itself; A shot and mysterious voices are recorded, and some ghost figures are recorded on video. At the beginning of the third day, Colin receives a call from the owner of the house and it turns out that Mary Young Mortensen should never be in the house; so Carter forces Mary to go. Not much happens later that night, but the group watches a videotape and sees a character in the guest house. As they investigate the guest house, the scene pans to Mary, who is on a radio talk show worried that people are discrediting the Mastersons good name. She returns to the house. Mary then begins killing all the members of the group, writes a note, and commits suicide, much like the mother did in the opening scenes of the film. It turned out that Mary was the little child the mother left in the opening scene. She was saved before she drowned and was apparently adopted by the police officer who arrived at the scene. As Mary prepares to commit suicide, she tells the filthy story of the Mastersons, which includes the imprisonment, rape, and torture of her mother, who eventually became pregnant with her. The birth of Mary caused Mrs. Masterson to kill her family and Mary's mother. When the film ends, it switches to a scene in which Carter is looking at an infrared camera. She is a ghost in the house now.
Reviews
“Realized on a mini budget, the film creates an extremely dense atmosphere and a few goose bumps. Above all, the consistent ending is heavy in the stomach long after the credits. The faint of heart should better avoid the stripe, which also has some drastic effects. "
"The scariest movie of the year."
