Mayor in Minden

In Minden, in the final phase of the NS state, when the enemy soldiers approached, the important officials of the NSDAP withdrew to the right, eastern bank of the Weser. The local military leadership tried to defend the Weser line as the western front line. Holle stayed in the city on the western, left bank of the Weser when the Weser bridges were blown up on April 4, 1945 and a Canadian storm unit took the city. He had opposed the NSDAP district leader Weber and asked the population in the cellars to wait for the front to approach. On April 5, Holle was first asked by the responsible British headquarters to get the city administration going again. On April 26th, he was released by the military government. His party membership of the NSDAP was given as the reason . According to Hans Nordsiek, Holle was very committed to the city.
