Pardesi ( Hindi : परदेसी, translated: stranger) is a Hindi film by Kundan Kumar from 1970 with Mumtaz and Biswajeet in the leading roles.

action

The beautiful Myna is a snake charmer and lives with her father Ustad, who soon wants to marry her to his assistant Tikora. One day Ustad finds a seriously injured man and brings him home. The man was bitten by a venomous snake, so Ustad gave him an antidote.

After a while, the man's health improves, but he cannot remember his past or his name. Its only feature is the expensive diamond ring on its hand.

Ustad and Myna call him Pardesi from now on and take care of him until he is completely healthy again. Meanwhile, Myna and Pardesi get closer and fall in love, which is a thorn in the side of Tikora. Ustad also teaches Pardesi the art of conjuring snakes, which would make him a worthy successor, also at Myna's side.

Therefore Tikora wants to kill the stranger, but Ustad stands in his way, whereupon Tikora then throws him down the cliff. Myna and Pardesi flee. As they flee, they are stopped by a car whose occupants, Ranimaa, Savitri and Vijay, identify him as Ajay, their son, husband and brother.

What Pardesi / Ajay doesn't know is that Vijay once threw him down the cliff just to avoid having to split up the inheritance. Ultimately, the whole truth comes out and Pardesi regains his memory after a fall. Meanwhile, Myna dies of heart failure. As a memorial, Pardesi and his wife Savitri put a large picture of Myna in their home.
