The Pargon River is a 66 km long right tributary of the Fish River in the south of the Seward Peninsula in western Alaska .
The Pargon River rises in the west of the Bendeleben Mountains at an altitude of about 700 m , 20 km northeast of the 1137 m high Mount Bendeleben . Initially it flows in a south-easterly direction from the mountains. The river reaches the basin landscape south of the Bendeleben Mountains and turns towards east-southeast. Over the last 15 km, the Pargon River forms several river loops.
The name was derived from the Eskimo language and adopted as the standard by the Board on Geographic Names in 1910 .
