Paris Michael Simmons (born January 2, 1990 in Lewisham , London ) is a former English football player .

Career

Simmons comes from the youth academy of Derby County and played in the 2007/08 season mostly in the reserve team, which like the professional team came to only one win of the season that season. On the final day of the 2007/08 season , Simmons made his Premier League debut in a 4-0 home loss to Reading FC when he came on for Emanuel Villa after 63 minutes . Even after relegation to the second division and the associated changes in the squad under coach Paul Jewell , Simmons played no role in the professional team. In November 2008, Simmons was brought by Nigel Clough to fifth division club Burton Albion for a month after he had noticed Clough in a reserve game. Simmons fell short of expectations at Burton, making only two league appearances before returning to Derby.

In early 2009, Nigel Clough took over the coaching post at Derby County, but this coaching change remained without positive effects for Simmons. In the spring of 2009 there was another loan to the fourth division club Lincoln City , but he stayed there, also handicapped by an ankle injury, without a competitive game. His contract, which expired at the end of the season, was no longer renewed by Derby and Simmons' time at Derby ended in the summer of 2009.

Trial training for a return to professional football failed, initially in the summer of 2009 at Wolverhampton Wanderers , followed in December 2009 by a one-week trial at the Polish club Śląsk Wrocław . After his trial training with the Wolves was unsuccessful, he joined the sixth division Eastwood Town in September 2009 , before moving to Carlton Town in the eight-class Northern Premier League Division One South a short time later . In the summer break of 2010 he and numerous other teammates from Carlton Town followed their coach Tommy Brookbanks one league higher ( Northern Premier League Premier Division ) to Hucknall Town , but in October 2010 he decided to change clubs again and was hired again in the NPL Division One South at Belper Town .

In the spring of 2011, Simmons went to the United States and joined the New Orleans Jesters for one season , for which he played in the USL Premier Development League . In the summer of 2017 he was introduced as a player at the newly founded club Ilkeston Town , which competed in Division One of the Midland League , and in October 2017 he ended his engagement again due to his professional obligations.
