Fabiana friesii is a plant type from the genus Fabiana in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Fabiana friesii is a 0.5 to 1 m high shrub . There are tufts of four to six leaves on the short shoots . The flowers are almost sessile. The calyx is 5 to 8 mm long and covers almost half of the corolla tube. The calyx tube is cylindrical and covered with linear, pointed calyx tips. The crown is 13 to 15 (rarely only 11) mm long, the corolla lobes are protruding. The stamens are twofold, the anthers are almost elliptical and 0.7 to 0.9 × 0.7 mm in size. The counters stand individually. The scar is crescent-shaped and incised.

The fruit is a capsule about 5.5 mm long , the seeds are about 1 × 0.7 × 0.3 mm in size.

distribution

The species is rare endemic to the Puna and Pre-Puna. It occurs in the Argentine provinces of Jujuy , Catamarca and La Rioja .
